Japan typhoon cancels Hawaii flights

Japan flights to and from Hawaii were canceled Wednesday as a powerful typhoon made landfall 125 miles west of Tokyo Wednesday and headed north for the area ravaged by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

The Associated Press reports via Hawaii News Now that at least six people were dead or missing in the south-central regions. Trains in Tokyo were halted and flights were canceled. KITV reports Delta Air Lines   flights canceled at least three flights departing Honolulu and one incoming flight from Tokyo’s Narita Airport.
